How ‘lucky’ I am

This is the view I wake up too and sit here in gratitude and enjoy… I feel so blissful and happy and people like to say how ‘lucky’ I am… and that is OK, I do feel lucky, but I also know I made this luck happen just like this…

When I first moved out of home I lived in various houses and situations over the years and these are just some of those stories.

I moved in with my boyfriend at about 19 years of age… we lived in a tiny flat that really was just a kitchen and a big room and we used the furniture to make bedroom to one side… it had lost of cockroaches and was old and dingy, but we made it into a home, we had lots of fun and we were grateful to have a ‘home’… it was what we could afford, there was no view but we enjoyed the view anyway and I never really thought about it beyond that. There was no thinking, I will be happy when I have a better view, then I will be happy…

When Flash and I first moved into an ‘Army’ house together, it was a new home and it was lovely and we treated it like our own, we looked after it and added value to the gardens and felt grateful everyday to be given the opportunity to live in a home like that… we never felt like you were ‘missing out’ because it wasn’t our own or wasn’t inner city. We had a nice outlook over the local park. A better view than I was used too. We had so much fun in that house, we bought Jack home to that house and we enjoyed the view and we were grateful. There was no thinking, I will be happy when I have a better view, then I will be happy…

When we moved to Brisbane and bought our first home here… well to afford what we wanted we had to move to the outer suburbs and we had to get the worst house in the good estate. The view was a yard that was filled with rubbish, and overgrown, the smell was a cat-infested dirty house… but we knew with hard work and love we would soon be enjoying a better view… and so we worked hard and we loved it up and we made that house a home with a lovely view to our beautiful pool area and lovely gardens and back yard… we were so grateful for that home and loved it up for 14 years, enjoying the walks by the river and all that home had to offer… There was no thinking, I will be happy when I have a better view, then I will be happy…

And then today I find myself here at this view and I wonder how it gets better than this and how did I get here… now I am only renting this view so who knows how long I will be here, and truth is we only ever really rent the view anyway… but I will BE here and I will be grateful every day and I will treat it with the love and respect like it was my own… I will love it every moment I am here and trust that there is another great view waiting for me somewhere if I have to leave this one… There is definitely no thinking, I will be happy when I have a better view, then I will be happy…

What you focus on expands, be grateful for where you are right now and you will get more of what you want showing up. Enjoy all the views along the way!
