The first picture is what they are building here just down the road from me… a beautiful new apartment complex with all the best fittings, the best appliances and the most spectacular view… yes it is going to be luxurious, comfortable and with a peaceful and soul filling outlook…
However the other pictures, well this is what it looks like at the moment as they work on the foundations… they have been at it for weeks, months… it is messy, dirty, ugly work… they go deep, it gets loud and it is pretty uncomfortable for the people living around it but you see it has to be done… it has to be done or that beautiful building will be sitting on shaky foundations and no matter how nice the fit out, no matter how much we dress it up, paint it up and no matter how good the view is, if the foundations are not strong, if they are not reinforced, well it will all start to crack and fall apart the moment there is a bit of movement, change and turbulence…
And so it is with us and our lives… we need to get the foundations right first, we need to do the dirty work, go deep and work on ourselves first… it can be uncomfortable for those around us, it can get loud and look dirty and not so pretty… but if we don’t no matter how much we dress it up with fancy clothes, appliances and no matter how good the car is we park in the driveway or how good the view is we park ourselves in front of… well if we don’t work on ourselves first, take responsibility find peace within… then the moment we get a little disruption it all falls apart…
And lucky for us we are not buildings and we can go back and do a little work on those foundations whenever we feel they are getting a little shaky! x
